Every year in October the American Bar Association joins legal organizations from around the country in hosting the National Celebration of Pro Bono. Beginning on Sunday, October 23rd, legal aid providers and non-profit organizations like The Pro Bono Project honor their volunteers and supporters. This year The Pro Bono Project is hosting a number of events to draw attention to civil legal aid and the important work volunteer lawyers, law students, paralegals, and others do to support access to justice for under-served and under-represented members of our community.

Want to learn how you can help immigrant children in need? The Pro Bono Project is proud to partner with Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans and members of the Louisiana Immigration Working Group to offer this free, 4-hour CLE seminar, including one hour each of ethics and professionalism. The first hour is an optional introduction to special immigrant juvenile status cases, while the remaining three hours will be a more thorough exploration of specific topics. While attendance is free, we ask that participants agree to accept representation in a pro bono special immigrant juvenile status case -- we will circulate a case list at the training.
